TWIN COURTYARD VILLAS

Twin courtyards villas is a multi-family residential project that houses two "townhouses" units at ground level and first; and two duplex units above on level two and three. Having the street access only to one side of the plot (the narrow end); the challenge became how to accommodate all the units in an efficient way while maintaining privacy for each unit. This was achieved by separating the units horizontally in plan across the site, as opposed to vertically; to provide for a better proportioned unit footprint. Locating all the parking in the basement relieves the need for street parking and opens up the street façade to better differentiate unit entrances.
