Conceptually the villa is designed as a series of stacked floors separated vertically by overhanging bands or slabs. The overhangs serve multiple purposes as they provide shade and cover from the sun as well as extend to provide terraces and outdoor spaces on all levels. The bands also are lined in some places with parapets that act as plant beds, this allows for a connection to nature, privacy from neighbors, and provide a visual middle ground between interior spaces and the streetscape.
Simple and minimal in their form the bands create the main impression of the architecture of the villa. The walls and windows in turn span from one band to the band above in a rhythmic manner following the internal layout of each floor. A central courtyard serves as the heart of the villa providing natural light to the spaces around it as well as a secluded outdoor space for swimming and lounging.
